Live Like A Star At The Viceroy Chicago!

Upon arriving at the Viceroy Chicago Hotel, the amazing decor immediately caught my eye. The color scheme and choice of furniture screamed luxury, I felt like a celebrity in this instant. Which, ironically, I met Ray J so maybe I was indeed a star among stars, haha! We received quite an exceptional welcome from the staff and this amazing hospitality continued throughout our entire stay. We then got settled into our Grand King room which offered a breathtaking comfort that I already began to miss as soon as I left. The hotel greeted us with treats that I could not be more happier about! A bottle of Rose, holiday cookies and candy treats, what more could a girl possibly ask for?
After getting completely settled in, we decided to head out to dinner at Somerset which was absolutely fantastic! The hospitality of the staff has to be mentioned once again as they were all beyond friendly and accommodating, adding to my celebrity experience as this is how I felt for my entire stay. We ordered seared scallops on top of a bed of puffed grains and sunchoke puree as the appetizers which were juicy and nothing short of yummy! Coming off such a great start, we could not wait to move on to the entree. Jay had the Somerset Cheeseburger with Black Truffle and crunchy onions while I had the NY Strip (no surprise there! Don’t I always get steak?) with sweet potato and blue cheese. The entire meal melted in our mouths, but what surprised us the most were the drinks!! I had the Monroe and Jay had the Grant (of course, a masculine drink). The Monroe was the perfect drink to start our trip and a great introduction to the Viceroy Chicago Hotel. I actually later found out that the manager of Somerset was the creator behind this goodness, how cool is that?!
To finish off the night, we took a stroll to their rooftop bar, the Devereaux! Chef Tatum definitely hooked us up! We had a yummy selection of homemade chocolate, brownie sprinkled with 24k gold flakes, snickerdoodle cookies and an entire spread consisting of everything you need to make the most delicious s’more, literally an unforgettable experience! Not to mention, the perfect pairing for the s’more… HOT CHOCOLATE! There’s nothing like a good boozy hot chocolate! If you haven’t tried it yet, you definitely have to! We were surprised with a trio of spirits to choose from to take our hot chocolate to the next level - chai-infused rum, cinnamon-infused whiskey and vanilla-infused vodka. It was hard to choose, but I went with chai and I was not disappointed, it was AMAZINGGGG!!! Literally the absolute best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! This trip was so well-needed and couldn’t have come at a better time.
Of course, we initially planned this trip to go see family but honestly, our visit to the Viceroy Chicago Hotel was the real highlight for me! (shh, don't tell the in-laws lol)
Safe to say, we can't wait to visit again!
